This is just a quick query, I am now running the latest RC on my htpc, but have noticed that the tv recordings are now different, instead of keeping the recording together as one file, it now has a file called dr-ms and then loads of sbe files.

does anyone know how to put it back so it uses mpg as the filename and stores recording as one file, or is this the feature of the new version

thanks

it now has a file called dr-ms and then loads of sbe files

TVE2 has always been like that, if you want mpeg2 file (which will not have program info) then use the compress feature under recordings with mytv running

Usually the reason for dvr-ms file being small with a lot of sbe files, is a manual recording was setup, not a preprogrammed recording using epg.

TVE3 is mpeg2\ts recordings with info, have you been using that at some point and forgotten.:D

i think before had done recording via preprogrammed and not manual - ones recently done were manually

will test again and see results

Any particular reason that .sbe files aren't merged into the DVR-MS files when recording manually?

Reason I'm asking is that ComSkip don't like the tiny DVR-MS files + the .sbe files. ^^

    doesn't seem to happen

the thing i know is i used to record as mpeg files now it's in the dvr-ms and .sbe files

does this mean i'm no longer using the hvr-1300 built-in hardware encoder ??

if so does ne1 know how to get it to use the hardware of the 1300

To show my ignorance I must admit this is the first time I hear of .sbe files.
Is there anywhere a description of how they should be interpreted.
I added dvr-ms support to comskip some time ago but as far as I am aware of it can only read a single asf like dvr-ms file.
    Any clues?

hidden *.sbe files are created when using manual recording.

Yes I know. I just don't understand why?
Because Microsoft decided to do it that way in their StreamBufferEngine (SBE).

when using manual record then you get one very small dvr-ms file which is "linked" to the hidden *.sbe files.
one other reason why we developed the TV-Server which offeres to record in *.mpg and *.ts directly
