Changing Resolution on Startup, Changing Back on Exit? (2 Viewers)

Heya guys, I've seen this discussed before but haven't found a solution.

Similar to Media Center, is there a known method for having MediaPortal change resolutions at startup and exit? My problem is that I control the desktop on my HTPC at 720p while I want to run MP (for obvious reasons) at 1080p. I have a couple of quick buttons pinned to my taskbar for res switching, but I'd prefer to just have it happen automatically. Or at the very least, have the res switch when MP starts.

I'm a bit of a programmer by trade, so if this needs to involve some kind of scripting, I'd be willing to give it a shot. Just need a point in the right direction.

I'm sure this has been discussed before so if there is any info you could provide, Great!

I use EventGhost for exactly this purpose (and many others) using the Task Create/Switch Events plugin.

Unfortunately, the way MP works means it activates and deactivates many times (esp. when starting viewing video), so I have it change to 1080p when MP activates, but only have it auto-switch back to 720p when certain other applications activate (e.g. explorer, desktop). Essentially, most applications I use switch to a resolution when activated, none switch when deactivated.

Because I've only got a few applications I use on my HTPC, this works really well - normal application use is at 720p, video (MP and PowerDVD) are at 1080p.

Why not just start MP via a batch file and use 12noon :: Display Changer to change the display resolution etc ?

(and yes EventGhost is great too - all my remote control stuff goes through it - but the learning curve is a bit steep)
