I'm running the latest mp build using a DNTV Live Pro! and a Twinhan Sat-CI

my problem is that when i change channels, i get a blank screen for ~1 second, then i get 0.5 seconds of audio (screen still blank), then silence for another 1 second, then i get picture and audio, as well as a 'no signal detected' message. The video and audio are smooth after the initial 'jerk' and the message remains on for about 4 seconds.

It seems to happen almost every time when i use satellite channels. Once i remain on a channel, it's smoooth and no problems from then on. Surfing channels isn't that great on MP so far, i was wondering if i could fix this.

Timeshifting is OFF, zap delay is 1 second (so that i can scan through channels without actually watching it. If i put it to zero, the delay in changing channels seems higher...)

ie.

I'm on channel A, and i want to go to channel D

I press down 3 times. With zap delay on 1 second, i can flick through easy.

With it set to 0, there is a noticeable delay from A to B, to C, to D.

    Hi,

    1) Concerning the Audio / Video hickups during channel changes: do you have this behaviour with all MPEG2 codecs? If you haven't tried already then please do. This might also be related to the demuxer being used. Please tell us what you've tried already to get it to work (a filled in support template would have been nice as well).

    2) OSD Zap delay. The behaviour you describe is to be expected of course. This parameters configures the time that the TV OSD is shown before it actually submits the tune request to the TV tuner. If set > 0, then you can zap through your channels based on the program guide info shown in the OSD, stop zapping when you found something you want to watch and wait for the OSD timeout to actually switch to that channel (like you described). With a zap delay of 0 the tune request is submitted immediately to the TV tuner. Especially for DVB cards the channel change can take up to a few seconds. This explains why you experience this as a slower channel change.

    Kind regards,
    Michel
