Channel Logos (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,
Ok i did what the wiki said to do about putting channel logos in
well i put them in made sure they were named right and i deleted the
cache folder as expected and restarted media portal and it came up
but no channel logos!!?!??! Ok what am i doing wrong.. Mind you i am
using streamed mediaportal skin can someone give me some insight on
this??

Hi there

Try to explain a bit more on your exact steps. maybe we can spot your problem then.
Which OS?
Which directory?
What file format are your logos?

I am not sure if anything on logos are logged, but also use option 3 of watchdog to collect full log files after you try to see the logo in MP. Then upload it here.
Sure someone will spot the problem then.

It took me a while to figure out what to name the logo files too.

For me, it was exactly appeared in the on screen TV GUIDE.

If my guide showed "199 CJON" then I had to create a file called "199 CJON.png"

I dropped all my logo icons into

c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal/thumbs/tv/logos

A quick way to get there is to click on Start > All Programs > Team MediaPortal > MediaPortal > User Files.

From there you can navigate to thumbs > tv > logos.

I've had to add a new icon here and there as new channels became available. I didn't have to delete the cache at all. The next time I started MePo the new channel logo was there.

Hey Guys,
I do believe the problem is i have the sid in front of the channel that is the reason why
as gtfreymann just pointed out the Channel names are no good without the sid in
front of them I am sure that is the problem I am going to try it out now and Will
let you guys know Thank you so much!

I am using windows 7 ultimate sp1 64 bit os... I am using Streamed Media-Portal
The files are Jpegs and they are in the thumbs tv logos directory where they belong..
As Gt pointed out I am an idiot and forgot to put the sid in front of them... Argh!!! I am
sure that is it... Trying it out now.... I am going to have to use an _ for the space...

Ok that was the problem.... I gotta put the sid's in Sheesh!!! yep I am an
idiot heh.... One thing though when you pull up the more menu it doesn't put
the logo in the square at all is it an issue because i am using jpegs should i use
Png's instead?!?!?

Excellent to hear. By the way, I didn't use an underscore instead of a space in my logo filenames and it works fine.

Hey GT,
Yeah I found that out... No need for the underscore I will tell you it is a daunting task
to do this But anything worthwhile takes time and Paitience.. I lived through the Cw4k
I can live through this... At least i can update the hardware and not be locked down to
4 year software and their ideas of the way it is supposed to run.... This thing is so much
better with this software it actually works Right without to much trouble... Once you get the
basics its a dream.... I will say this when i am done i am backing the entire hard disk up
