Maybe this should be a feature request, but it may be possible and someone could explain it to me; I'm not sure.

My lovely wife would like the channels named by their national broadcasters rather than by the local affiliates (i.e. NBC rather than KGW (or in the case of HD: KGWDT2)). However, when I try to do this, it breaks the TV Guide (using Zap2It plugin). Is there a way to assign two station names, one that is displayed and one that the system/EPG/channel icons/etc use?

Also, maybe this is something that would be resolved in the new TV Engine being developed if it isn't possible right now?

Not sure what you mean by "breaks the TV guide", because you should be able to rename your channels.

You mean that you no longer get guide data and getting errors?
Or do you just mean it no longer shows your channel images?

Not getting errors, just not getting any guide data. If channel names are identical to those on the zap2it site, it works fine (I found that out because I had to rename two of the channels to the zap2it names from what they pulled OTA to get the data for those stations).

Maybe I'm using the zap2it plugin incorrectly too, it worked fine for a while, but when I went into it recently to work on this it had changed and seemed more powerful, but also a bit more confusing.

The images I know just need to be named the same as the channels and they work.

Strange, as you should be able to rename channels without any
problems after the mapping is established.
Just tried it and everything was fine.

My guess is that something is wrong in your MP channels or epgMapping tables.

Is your lineup digital?

Can you post you epg log file to http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com
when you do not get any guide data.

If you want to PM me and you can backup your channel list via
configuration.exe and get it to me and I can see if I can reproduce
using your lineup.

It sucks but the fix may be to basically start over with the channels.
Delete them all, autoscan channels, let zap2it do its thing(mapping auto-add digital if needed)
and after the mapping is established rename your channel and set the zap2it
plugin to not rename channels.

That doesn't sound too bad, provided it is supposed to work. I'll give it a shot tonight and let you know. :D

Oh, and the lineup is one analog and 7 (or 8) digital. I'll save my logs first as well, just to note any differences in case it helps for later.
