When I preview the channels in the TV server configuration I can hear the audio but there is no picture. The same thing happens with the client but I figured I should get the server sorted first. If i record a channel in the server configuration I can play it back with VLC fine but WMP only plays the audio. I'm assuming it is something wrong with my h.264 codec but I have tried (with MP client) ffdshow, coreAVC, cyberlink h.264(ati), pinnacle h.264 video decoder and pinnacle h.264 video decoder HWAcc. They all give the same result.

All I want is to not use the crappy pinnacle software. I can stream it straight into VLC but its generally quite jerky.. I think this is because VLC is single threaded and it pretty much maxes out one core.

I've got the same (or similar) problem, so I'll add to this thread and bump it.

Preview in TVServer setup has sound but no video (it usually displays a mess of vertical coloured lines, almost like an encrypted channel, but not moving). In my case, all channels work fine inside MP itself, it's just the preview that doesn't work. It used to work on my system, so presumably something has changed (but I don't know when it last worked, so can't say whether it's a MP version change or something else). What codec does the preview try to use to display the video? Could it be that I've got a dodgy codec installed that is being picked up by preview but MP is forcing PowerDVD?

    Any ideas?

is there anybody out there with a pinnacle PCTVnanoStick (73e) who does not get this problem?
I'm not sure if mediaportal supports it although it is DVB-T I just dunno if it has BDA drivers.
