I have no problems switching channels except when switching to/from one certain channel called "TV 2" in Denmark. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds, sometimes it lock up Mediaportal.

Does any one else have the same problem?

P.s. I use a DVB-T signal on my Hauppauge HVR-1300 and have server and client on the same PC

If it does comfort you, i can tell you my client does also freeze/crash when i change channels, i am not shure if its the switch between encoded/uncoded, Dolby Digital/ordinary sound or combinations that does this here.

I have the same problem. But I have noticed that MP client often hangs when i change from SVT1/SVT2 both transmitting AC3 sound.
However the server is OK.

My MP also freezes, but not only when changing channels. This is happening only when not in Fullscreen mode. The sound is still there but the screen freezes.

I've managed to work round this by using the mouse and click on the little tvpicture so that it goes full screen again. then the picture starts moving. When you leave the fullscreen MP responds again until next "command". I've notised this behaviour when entering the EPG, leaving TV for home, entering Recorded videos.

This has probably nothing to do with your issue but you can try it anyway.
