I'm not sure, and I'm aware this is under heavy development atm, but I don' think the engine checks existing streams before starting another on the same channel.

For example, I have scheduled recordings on BBC1 and ITV1, both recording fine, if I close MP GUI and then reopen it and start the TV it will create a third stream for BBC1, which means I now have the following timeshifting or recording:-
BBC1 recording
BBC1 timeshifting
ITV1 recording

Make sense?

From what I have seen in most SVN's that is normal.

You don't view a 'recording' stream, always a 'timeshifting' stream so if one isn't present on a frequency/mux it will be created with ownership to that clients id.

Also with multiple clients each will have its own independant 'timeshifting' stream even if one is present but owned by another client, this avoids contention.
