Two days ago I have bought a Cinergy T USB XE stick, and the problem is, that Mediaportal supports this TV device only partially.
The device has a built in LED, which shows when it is tuned into a TV-station.
When scanning TV-stations with Mediaportal, it finds the (German) stations provided for my area (and the LED shines: getting info...), but it does not save the channels. Moreover, tuning is just possible for the TV-station last viewed with the original software and that is the only station, Mediaportal saves in the scan.
From my previous TV-Card I have saved a channel-list, which of course I can import; but it is nevertheless not possible to view any TV-station, despite of the one last viewed with the original software.
I have done some research on the topic, and I have found out, that others have the same problem with that card, too, e.g. I have found the topic in the German Mediaportal-Forum.
Nevertheless, as it is possible watching TV in Mediaportal with that hardware in general, there must be a solution.
The problem seems to be: The hardware uses PID-filtering, because it is a USB 1.1 device which hasn't the bandwidth for all 4 channels of the transport-stream.
Wouldn't it be possible to implement that in Mediaportal, even if the manufacturer won't make the device API public ?
Cheers,
Goetz
