Just set up a new htpc running Windows 7 64bit as my main singleseat setup and tvserver. (Running fairly well:))

The issue I have is with the my old setup which I am using as a client. Both systems are wired through a gigabit switch and I can access the main server no problem. Unfortunately, tv plays but I get intermittant blocking which eventually leads to a freeze and loss of connection. I also have a similar prblem with music accessed from a network drive which also after a much lnger period stops playing.

It feels as though this is a network issue.
As this is my first attempt to use a client have I missed any special setup procedures needed.

A quick update.

I have tried numerous tweaks from various posts which appear to have similar issues including:

1. Changing the server default port from 554
2. Installing MySQL tools
3. Adding host details in Windows/system32/drivers/etc

None of the above have solved the issue of picture breakup/blocking etc. I can confirm that I can stream across my network without issue playing all file types including hd content.
My guess is that I hve an issue with MySQL since I can connect but the data connection appears weak/slow.

These are the log files, no crash but stuttering on both sd and hd channels and recording.

Any help would be appreciated.
