I have used Mediaportal for a couple of weeks now.
However, I could not get the close caption to show on US cable using a clear QAM tuner.
With Windows 7 media center on my laptop, it is quite easy to get the close caption to show. However, my desktops run on XP Pro XP3. Any hint or instruction on getting the close caption to show will be appreciated.
Also, the TV tends to be stuttered when MP is windowed. The TV shows are much smoother when it is in full screen. Shift 1 in full screen confirmed the # of dropped frame to be very small. My computer are on Pentium IV Prescott 3.0 GHz and the graphics card is Radeon 9600 PRO with 128MB. If I update the system to Intel i3 or AMD Phenom II and a better graphics card like 512MB 128bit graphics card, will the windowed frames run smooth without stuttering. The material I read sometimes convinced me that it may need more than updating the hardware. Need some guidance about that. I have tried Reclock, various settings in configuration and different CODEC with no difference in stuttering in windowed frames.
