On my install of MP (0.2.0.4), I'm currently using VNC for remote management. This will all change tomorrow when my remote/IR-receiver arrives, but for now I've noticed an odd behavior. Anytime I close the VNC viewer, MediaPortal freezes: the audio continues, but the UI and/or video freeze. Logging back into VNC gives me control of the mouse, but nothing short of CTRL+F4 will bring MP back to life. For the record, this is under UltraVNC (client and server).

Anyone else experiencing this?

Try disabling the mirror driver by right clicking the vnc icon in the taskbar. It uses DX9 which in turn conflicts with MediaPortal. I haven't had this issue and I use UVNC and MP together almost daily.

try a different VNC client/server combination, I've found that some are better than others in terms of usability and cpu load.

I had problems when I upgraded UltraVNC to v1.0.2 (client and server)
MP would lock up shortly after connecting.
I had to back to v1.0.1 to get things working again.

Can you help point me in the right direction? Neither the server nor client properties have an option called "mirror driver." Do you mean the video hook or "SystemDll" options?
