Ok, so i'm trying to figure out how to get the best out of my picture quality. But there is so many things to consider and fit in here.
From my experience so far, Cyberlink PowerDVD is the best codec for LiveTV, and i recently found out that i can use FFDShow to postprocess and upscale my SD signals, so i'm looking forward to see how that works out. Don't know what's best for DivX/Xvid movies yet, so what's your experience?
But there is also something called DXVA, and i figured out that it's short for DirectX Video Acceleration, and that this can coop with EVR (Enhanced Video Acceleration). But where to find them, how ignite them and...well, i have no clue. Are they automatically and magically enabled?
And as if that wasn't enough, there's something called ATI Avivo and ATI Avivo HD, and from my understanding they seem to be something similar to DXVA, so, are they an alternative, or maybe and additional feature i should take advantage of? How, where and hmm?
And DXVA and/or AVIVO should probably be enabled for my h.264 content aswell (That's what's located in my .mkv files, right?). Which codec is recommended for live TV in HD, and, i guess haali media splitter is the best (and only?) codec for my .mkv files?
1. So, make it quick, simple and easy, which codecs should i use (please not a big codec pack chaos)?
2. What else should i get? (Can i improve my picture quality with PowerStrip?)
3. How do i set up this mess to get the most out of my hardware?
Wow, that's a lot of STUPID, haha. Any constructive replays will be appreciated
