in my pm3sexy skin, i created a custom movingpictures.xml skin file.
i setup a colordiffuse and also setup background3.png to display as the texture.

okay, here's the problem...
when i select movies that have their own custom backdrop, the colordiffuse and background3.png is intermittent.
sometimes the colordiffuse and background covers the custom backdrop perfectly.
other times, the backdrop just pops up above the colordiffuse and background3.png and is fully displayed.

i want the colordiffuse and background texture to always cover the custom backdrop.

how do i fix this?
or is this a mediaportal bug?

    I've had success with placing a solid constant background behind the fan art backdrop, followed by the backdrops in MovingPictures, both with a colordiffuse setting to 'fade' them into the background, and then follow with a series of vignettes to reveal more or less of the backdrop fan art, depending on the view.

    The placement order in the xml determines the layer priority, eg., each subsequently defined graphic is placed on top of the previous one. Text is another thing altogether... always on top of the graphics no mater where it is placed in the xml, except when an overlay is displayed, which is able to overprint the primary screen text.

    best regards,

    Chuck

    I think you may want to adjust the code for your visibility:
    Code:
      <control>
          <description>Background to be displayed when there is no Movie Backdrop</description>
          <type>image</type>
          <id>0</id>
          <posX>0</posX>
          <posY>0</posY>
          <width>768</width>
          <height>576</height>
          <colordiffuse>aaffffff</colordiffuse>
          <texture>background3.png</texture>
          <visible>[facadeview.list|facadeview.smallicons|facadeview.largeicons]+Control.IsVisible(50)</visible>
        </control>
    omitting the Control.IsVisible(1) condition

    You already have a default backdrop defined when there is no backdrop available.

    by disabling the complete visible element, you may have undesirable results when in details view.
    Still having the background3 with grey area and the grey image as background for the details information may be a bit of.
    Perhaps disable the extra grey area and moving the details information onto the background3 grey area might be a sufficient solution.
