I just installed W7 on my new SSD, only MediaPortal (+ nvidia driver, SAF, floppyDTV software, network driver, ssdtweak, windows update) is installed. All seems to work quite ok, but I have one big problem with my Microsoft MCE remote...:
The colored buttons also open Windows Media Center!
I've selected the MCE remote in MP config (and activated MPtray), but I can't find a way to disable the startup of WMC under these 4 buttons... This wasn't the case in my old setup on Vista...

Can anyone help me?

    Hi :)

You disable it in MP Configuration under 3rd party settings.

    Hi :)

You disable it in MP Configuration under 3rd party settings.

Even when I activate this option in RC6, the coloured buttons still startup WMC when i'm in MP...It's only the colored buttons of my Windows MCE remote (guide, livetv, recordings, dvd menu)...any suggestions? THis is new for me in W7, never had this problem in VIsta

So you have enabled the "service disabled by policy" under additional 3rd party checks tab in MP config.

There might still be a MCE service running that may require a reboot to stop.

I've been able to disable MCE from automatically starting when I select the green button on the MCE remote however; I've noticed that MediaPortal no longer starts when the green button is selected. I've been using the MPTray plug-in in the past to utilize the MCE green button to start MP.

I've noticed this is only an issue since upgrading to Windows 7. The MCE remote will allow me to navigate through MP but only after I've manually started it by selecting the application icon with the mouse.

Is anyone running Windows 7 with MP 1.1 final that has been able to use the MCE remote green button to open MP? If so, what did you do to allow the green button to start MP? Is there a specific plug-in that supports MP 1.1 on Windows 7?

    Hi

    Mine works great.
    What I did:
    MP Configuration
    Additional 3rd party checks
    Disable MediaCentre
    Enable MPTray

@kkendall - so are you saying you are able to start MP with the green button on the MCE remote?

If so, did you do anything else besides making the suggested change in the 3rd party section in MP Configuration?

Also, which plug-in are you using to incorporate MCE remote functionality with MP?
