I've been searching around the forum for a bit, looking for hardware and software recommendations for the ultimate (well, at least fairly good) combined storage and TVServer setup. I want one server that acts as a NAS and also runs the TVServer backend with a pool of DVB-C cards. I read that some are using WHS for this, but that it is not really recommended because of patches and fixes that are not released for the server OSes. I also read about FreeNAS, but that would only work for a dedicated NAS, I guess? So what are people using for hardware (especially interested in cabinet, PSU and CPU recommendations) and OS/software for their setups?
