Anyone know what frequency to look for when scanning channels in MP (composite frequency) and if its possible to change it in dvbt.xml so it will scan for channels on composite input ?

    Hello Exco,

based on the information you gave with your post I just can guess what you want. Are you trying to use a composite-video-signal as an input signal for MediaPortal ? If so you can't just change your dvbt.xml file in order to scan for it. Excuse this expression but this is a funny way you are trying to go. These technologies are incompatible with each other in so many ways it hurts. You can't just hook up an analogue video class adapter to a dvb-device.

Well as I said, I don't want to be rude but this scenario just makes me grin over here. Please provide DETAILED information about WHAT you want to do AND System specification.

    Hey level20peon

Ill try and xplain a bit better.

    Media Portal is installed.
iv got an Set-Top-Box ( I think) for Canal Digital (Denmark). (Model CDC-7000 ST)

My PC has got a TV Card (pinnacle Hybrid Tuner Kit 330e) (USB) (Running it on a laptop)

I want the signal from the CDC-7000 ST to go thrue my pinnacle Hybrid Tuner Kit 330e so I will be able to watch it in MP.

The pinnacle Hybrid Tuner Kit 330e has an Composite input that i can connect from the Composit output of the CDC-7000 ST

The signal is there, tested it with MCE and Cyberlink Powercinema, and in those to it works.

Hope this xplains it a bit better...

PS: And no you aint rude, I could have xplained myself better in the first post ehh.

Set-Top-Boxes have their own channel mapping as far as I know. The Box ITSELF scans for channels, you also change channels via remote control DIRECTLY within the Box. So just the resulting signal which contains the decoded video and audio information is put out via Composite. The TV card in your PC won't do any channelscan at all, it would just pass through the composite signal without changing it.

I don't use and have never used an external video-source inside MediaPortal. But a simple forum search came up with two possible solutions:

    1. Solution 1: link, I have no time to read it all for you but you should have a look into this topic.

    2. Solution 2: Do a search for "composite" with "search titles only" enabled in the MediaPortal forum. There are tons of topics which deal with the need to use an external video input via composite.

A tip for the future: please do a search before asking questions that have been discussed plenty of times before. This is no insult or something like this but the forum (every forum) becomes redundant and since supporters are limited in time and number it becomes more and more impossible to keep track of relevant things.
