Compro T100 TV Server setup issues (1 Viewer)

I have not installed everything yet, as I have only begun configuring my Media PC - but I am just not understanding the Server setup instructions. Where it says "Select a displayed TV card and select your country/area on the right hand side" - well all I see is a "radio webstream card" - not my Compro - and there definitely isn't any option to the right to select any country.

Can someone please confirm if this card is able to work with TV SERVER, and if so, which drivers did you use?

Or is there something I am misunderstanding RE the instructions?

Many thanks!

Are you using the latest driver, notice you are on Vista, does MCE see the card ok.

Not sure any of this will work or show up without audio driver being installed, as all these devices rely on M$ files for video\audio.

Does the compro software work ok.

Hi - thanks for the reply!

Yes - using the latest Compro driver
No - good question - MCE does not see it either
Have now also installed the Audio - Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS - no change
Compro software never worked. Crashes upon channel scan, but I have seen this occur for other T100 users, so I assumed this was a fault with their software. It may be that my Card has a hardware fault, new from the box..! It shows in devmgmt but is not detected by any software.

One thing; what is the RadioWebStream entry in my screen shot?

    Many thanks

RadioWebstream is where you tune any internet web stations, name, add URL's etc.

Uninstall the TV card driver from device manager and any associated software, Vista will ask you if you wish to completely remove references to driver, say yes, once done reboot and now try reinstalling and see if it works.

There's no guarantee with this as the t100 is not mce certified, although from what I can find it does have bda drivers, just no good write ups about it working.

Tried that, no change unfortunately. My last ditch effort before this card enters my bin will be to switch the PCI slot.

On these BDA drivers - does that mean that their current drivers are BDA enabled, or do I need to source the BDA version? I am assuming you mean that the existing drivers fit within the BDA, as you linked the same ones I used.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it as this nasty compro product is not yours to support! Can you please recommend a card that is proven with Vista + MP TV server?

    Hi Owlsroost

-I tried those drivers, they picked up the analogue side of this hybrid card.
-I then switched the PCI slot.
-This, against all odds, improved the situation somewhat. I might have a dodgy PCI slot - as the original drivers then picked up both digital and analogue receivers within MP TV Server. Or perhaps I am dealing with an unstable driver.
-MP TV Server crashes when searching digital but not analogue, no channels available despite my aerial being right by the window where my Plasma TV picks up all channels with 100% clarity using the same rabbit ears.
-VMC does not pick up the card as valid, rolls it's doughnut for a while then reports that there are no receivers available.

I can conclude that this product is crap. The application supplied with the card is notoriously unstable, and to add to that this card does not work in any workable fashion with either VMC or MP TV server. There may possibly be a hardware fault with this particular card, but I am more inclined to agree with other 'sufferers' that this card has poorly assembled hardware, or badly made drivers, or both, coupled with a certainly terrible application package. You have been warned :)

I would have thought that Compro would recall this product given the bad press it receives, but perhaps Compro do not intend to be around that long before a secret rebrand - personally this puts a personally black mark on this company. Just my 2c.

Thanks to the Mediaportal developers who tried to assist!

Unfortunately one of the first threads found when I googled this card, was how bad the reception was, even comparing it to their own usb equivalent.

Then of course, there was the lack of MCE support, not a sign of a good card imo.

    :sorry:
