This is a little off topic for the MediaPortal forum, but I am still in the process of setting up an HTPC that I seem to be having issues with the hardware. So I thought maybe there is a decent or popular way to test it.

The only software I have used before is Prime95, and that's not only old and a pretty basic test, but it's only using 9% of my Q6600's CPU under it's Stress Test.

So what are all you people using to test or "burn in" your machines?

That raises an interesting question... how hot is too hot? Speedfan seems to indicate 50 is hot as it shows a flame icon when a sensor shows 50+, but is that really all that hot? My video card shows 57deg (celcius) when sitting idle (it's an ASUS EN8600GT which has no fan, only a big heatsink). When should I get nervous or take some action?

Also, I found and was able to run PCMark05 which looked like it had a nice range of tests, but the results at the end was just a number. No breakdown, nor was there a stress test like CPU Burn-in or Prime95 has.
