If comskip runs after a show has been recorded (or during), in MP, it crashes.

When I double click on Comskip.exe in its program files/comskip folder, I get:

"the application failed to inistalize properly... click OK to terminate"

I had comskip running fine on my XP machine with Mediaportal. Ive recently changed to vista and now it crashes on startup.

Im using a fresh install using comskip80_007.zip

The Vista install is also fresh. No garbage; just MP and its dependencies.

I read the readme and it says to use the 'always allow' in vista, but I dont get that option when I run comskip.exe manually. (it just crashes, so I guess it doesnt get to that point)

    Code:

    Problem signature:

Can anyone help with this? or point me in the right direction to fix it?

    (i hate ads!) :p

    thanks eric

that was just the thing. I had c++2005 installed. took that off, installed 2008 version and it seems to have fixed the problem now

(hopefully) now I can relax and watch recorded tv without ads :)
