I have a strange problem during MP1 final installation to my Vista machine. For some reason ComSkip plugin icon is missing in Media Portal Setup. I configured it in the TV server, but don't see it in the Media Portal itself.
I have the installation on my another XP PC without any problems, the plugin exists for both TVServer and Media Portal.
I will reinstall MP from the scratch, but it is still sounds very strange. Just in case I had RC2 on the same PC with ComSkip plugins present in both configurations.

The comskip plugin should be visible when in expert mode of Configuration.

However, I do not think you need it there if you use TVServer.

In TVServer - enable comskip plugin.
In MP Configuration - enable setting under General: "Auto skip commercials for videos with comskip data". This is used for playback.

Thank you for your reply. I did the way you suggested, just didn't have a chance to test it's functionality yet.
The strange thing is as I said I can see the comskip under XP install on two my other PCs, just not at the Vista one, weird. It used to have the icon with RC2.

Did you verify Configuration if you are in EXPERT mode? See screenshot.

I wonder why you can't see it...

Then again, both you guys run TVServer. Why do you need the comskip plugin in MP Configuration? Just use comskip plugin in TVServer.

    Or what am I missing?

As I said it is very weird and it is not even a problem :). I have two other PCs running MP1 with TV Server and ComSkip plugin is viseable from the configuration UI. I have the plugin enabled in TV server and it works anyway.
I am pretty sure this is a hardware related issue as I had the same result on the same machine running Vista and then Windows XP professional.

Yep looks like the plugin does not show in the process tab with Vista and should also not be there in XP, this is if TVServer exists on the same pc (singleseat), if you install TVServer after Mediaportal is set up then the chances are the comskip file may be left.

Ohh! Thank you, Paranoid Delusion for restoring my sanity :D.
On other PCs I had previous MP installations prior to MP1 and this explains why I still can see the plugin on them.
