Hello! Until about 2 weeks ago I used MCE on WinXP client to record TV, but having a new server (still using Windows Server 2003 x86, now with hardware fast enough for recording TV :-)) I tried MediaPortal for that (only running the tv server component on the server, would install mediaportal client on client os/web interface for schedule recordings when server is running). My problem: the installation of MediaPortal 1.02 (Server only) completed successfully, I've installed wmp11, wmfdist, the BDA patch (do I really need it for analog input?). The connection to MSSQL 2005 Ent.(mixed mode) is ok, in tv server config the tv card (creatix ctx908 from medion 8008 pc, philips saa7134 chipset without hardware mpeg2 encoding) is recognized successfully (drivers tested: Medion drivers for MCE 1.3.2.5, Creatix drivers 1.3.4.5, Creatix drivers 1.4.0.3). The first channel scan (Germany, cable) after installing completes(!) without finding any channel, on any further scan (any country, any source) the program crashes (System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException). Some guys got it running on server 2003, so it should run on this os. Are there any updates missing for Server 2003 (I know that this os isn't supported officially!), do I need hardware mpeg2 encoding/software mpeg2 encoder or have I done any other "simple" mistake? Is there a program update (maybe alpha/beta release) available to correct the problem? greetz, ldlx
