Cant make alterations to configuration since installing 1.0.1 due to crash of configuration.exe, logs can be found at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/input-string-not-correct-format-error-57950/ Any suggestions

Thinking I may be better to wait for 1.0.2

Yep... exact same thing happened to me. I had to restore a backup to get it to work again. Of course, this reverted back to 1.0.

Yeah, same problem here, when i open mediaportal config on 1.0.1 it get an error window. I can click on continue or quit, but it wont save any change i do on the configuration tabs. Mediaportal itself works well though. What to do?

Well I'm gonna wait for 1.0.2 and see if anything happens with that, if that doesn't fix it I'll bite the bullet and install from scratch, pain in the butt but there you go.

Sorry gents. this was fixed by mid of April, but somehow the change was missed for 1.0.2.
The proble is when you set in Music DSP a Dynamic Amplification, it is not initialised correctly, when loading. so the error occurs.

The fix is in all upcoming svn releases and also of course in 1.1.0

I found that by deleting the file musicdsp.xml from the directory Application Data\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal allows me access to Configuration and I can save new settings. If this fails you can try manually editing Mediaportal.xml which is what I was doing prior to hwahrmann's post. 1.0.2 didn't solve this issue either. But now with no DSP My installation is working well.
