Just did a fresh install from MediaPortal_0.2.3.0_RC3_Setup.exe and when I start the Configuration.exe in the Mediaportal dir, it crashes 0.5sec after the splash screen appears with the message "MediaPortal Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost." The log file Configuration.log only contains

Use the MPtestool2 in the MP directory, and run that.

Then use the advanced function + with the arrow next to it to upload zipped log files to here.

Have you got .net installed as per here

Here are the logs. I also run configure.exe before running mediaportal.exe which start but with a clear window (just an image of what's below) and complains about some skins files missing in the log.

Looking at the requirements page, I do not not have wmplayer 10 (I am still at 9), is it really necessary? And, do I really need mce to use more than one dvb-t card? (Now I have just one, but I was planning of adding another one).

One of the prerequisites of installing MP is that Windows is upto date.

That preferably means WMP as well, which MP relies on, cannot see any reason to not update.

The chances are you are now going to make hard work for yourself, as you may have to uninstall MP\delete installation folder and start all over again.

Ok, I uninstalled MP, upgraded to WMP11 and reinstalled MP. Still same problem, new logfiles attached.

well, how about providing us with your systemspecification?
the tempate was posted automatically when you started the thread....... :D

i would suggest that you download and install the latest ::directx9 redistributeable::

    after that:
    1. uninstall MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC3
    2. delete the MediaPortal folder which is left after uninstalling
    3. install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC3
    4. run "MediaPortal Setup"

I tried upgrading the directx, deleting and reinstalling RC3, but the problem is the same. New log files are attached.

I would like to try the RC2 version, but I cannot find it anywhere. Where is it?
