I have a Hauppauge HVR4000 card and MediaPortal can see the the three tuner sections of this card (Analogue, Terrestrial Digital and Satellite) and tune them OK. However, the only way I can receive Sky channels is via my Sky box which is plugged into the S-video / Composite video connector.

Windows Media Centre only works with the composite connector - not the tuner so to watch Sky, I have to swap to the much poorer programme. (Many thanks to the MediaPortal developers :))

I would like to setup MediaPortal to use the composite connector on the Hauppauge card. Can anybody offer any advice.

Thanks.

PS. As an alternative, I have heard there are now tuner cards available that will receive accept your Sky card and receive encrypted channels. Can anybody recommend a card that will work with MediaPortal and receive HDTV.

Did you ever get an answer?

Ireland P, did you ever get an answer on this? I have a similar problem with an external set top box and a Hauppauge 1600 card.

I've got MediaPortal to display the basic Channel 4 from coax input but I can't change channels

I use ServerBlaster to control the Hauppauge IR Blaster, which seems to work fine - but I get a black screen when I try to watch one of the programmed channels.

I think I have a channel mapping issue.

I have not made any progress on this. You appear to be doing better than me :)

In Tv server, I have gone into the analogue card, added the S Video channels and in the TV Channels section can see 9 new entries labelled CVBS#1 to 3, SVideo#1 to 3 and RGB#1 to 3. However if I try to preview any of them I get a pop-up with "unknown error". I am able to preview other channels in Tv Server.

My only thinking is that I installed the addon to allow Windows Media Center to work with the Hauppauge analogue input channels of the card (which it does!) - but it cannot use the tuner part of the card.

Please let me know if you make any progress.

Thanks
