Hey,

I'm using the Hauppauge MCE remote control kit.
Click here for a image of it

The remote is working fine for Windows and MediaPortal.
Now i want to change the mapping of the remote, because the "Power-Button is used to activate the standby-mode.
I just want to configure it to exit the current window.
I searched on the internet for a solution and found a lot of old threads. people edited the irremote.ini to solve their mapping problems.
Ok i looked into the irremote.ini it but that overtaxed me. 1683 lines code.
But i found out that the "general mapping" is configured in "[Default]". So i searched for the "Power-Button" in [Default] and found the following line:
GRNPOWER={run(C:\windows\ehome\ehshell.exe)}
isn't the power button? it is not configured to activate the standby-mode.
i changed that entry but my remote keeps on activating standby-mode.

So my question is how can i change the mapping of my remote in general (windows)!?

I attached my irremote.ini, would be nice if you have a look at it.

I'm grateful for every post! :D

greets from germany

/ p.s. sorry for my bad english :p

ok i think its not a problem that it is caused by hauppauge software.
i uninstalled all hauppauge drivers/software and deleted all hauppauge entrys in the regisrty.
i had no effect on the remote, it works quite well.
So I uninstalled "ehome infrared receiver"-drivers and then the remote doesn't work anymore.
So the microsoft driver is controling the remote (maybe because the hauppauge is a mce clone?!).

Does anyone have a idea how to change the mapping for microsoft remotes? :/

If under the MCE remote settings it will not allow you to do what you want, try the IRServersuite plugin found here
the IRServersuite-plugin is just aplugin for mediaportal right?
and there is no chance to change the mapping of mce-remotes in general (windows)? :(
Ok i think i have to buy a new one...

IR Server Suite has plugins for MediaPortal because it's made for MediaPortal but it's certainly not limited to MediaPortal.

IR Server Suite can control your whole PC. The Hauppauge support is limited but worth a try.

    Cheers,
