As far as I know actuall gfx cards to &quot;query&quot; the TV and recieve a list of supported modes, they then translate.This works actuall fine with my newer Nvidia 7600GS card and all the native PC resolution in games show up nice! (800x600,1024x768, etc..) and all without any overscan, though(!) my PIO plasma does not support native PC/DOS resolutions. The counterpart is that the card does this only in Windows. That means during POST/BIOS it does not show anything when booting and I would have to hook up a VGA-Monitor to configure something in BIOS or enter &quot;safe mode&quot;.Someone told me that ATIs card would also translate in DOS mode, which would overcome this annoying issue. (BTW: the older FX5200 card I owned, worked in DOS mode.. But I belive this was by fault as it did not query the displays capabilities. In Windows when asking for non-display-supported resolution, it switched into the new resolution and the display showed up with artifacts annd flickering.. So if anybody is fighting with these issues, consider buying a new card..)</blockquote>
