There are a few old and unhelpful posts about this issue in the forum from the distant past, I thought I would revisit this idea: I'm thinking of connecting a CCTV camera (with Component video connectors) to my Video-In socket of my Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE. Would I be able to have two input sources? One through the coaxial input for analog TV and then one Component for the CCTV? I don't want to be able to watch the two at the same time, I would ideally only want one of the TV channels to be that of the CCTV input.

Would that be somehow possible?

:D

I think you mean composite - not component, as the PVr-150 does not have component in (very, very few cards do)

It is worthy of note that if your input card does not have hardware encoding then you will need to install a software encoder. I personally have found that this can be a little unreliable and can cause the odd crash.

I generally find (on an E7400 system) that there is a delay of about 7 seconds from the video being inputted, to the image being output on via the HTPC.
