There seems to be an ongoing problem that some users have when trying to install MP 1.36. I regret that I do not know the cause of this problem, and so cannot suggest a solution. However, I can suggest a workaround that (hopefully) will work for you. The workaround is to:Completely uninstall MP, MySQL, and MariaDB.Perform a first-time install of MP 1.33 (you can choose either the 32-bit or 64-bit version).Perform an upgrade install of MP 1.36 over MP 1.33 (you don't need to install MP 1.34 or 1.35).See this post for details (slightly out of date, but still applicable with appropriate changes). With any luck, @Pablik will be along soon, and will be able to look at your log files and tell you what the problem really is, and how to solve it.-- from CyberSimian in the UK
