Controlle External software using IR (1 Viewer)

Hi I want to be able to backup my sons DVD.
It is not a problem to do it here in Norway since you are alowed to take backup of DVD to protect your original DVD. I know this is a problem in some countries.

And with a 4 year old in house that realy want to be able to choose moves himself to watch etc it would be mutc mutch simple to take care of the DVD if I had em on the Hdisk acceed by Mediaportal. and he could also choose em easialier..

Therefor I want to launch an external program with simple GUI for backing up DVDs. But I want to use the Remote. How is it done ....
Maybe it is a plugin already?
