Copied DVD from Network Share Stutters
Hi,
When playing a DVD, which has been copied to a network share, I often get stutter. Reading several posts on this and other forums, I concluded that this has all to do with the file cache of a network drive (Which is to small).
I installed DVDIdle which caches a part of the requested file in memory (or harddisk if you like) and this works wonderfull in WMPlayer (which also stuttered before installing DVDIdle). I looked at the network traffic on the file server when I started the DVD and I first saw a lot of data being send. After a while , the amount lowered and leveled, probably because the cache was full.
But, within Media Portal, this caching does not work.
Within DVDIdle you have to define which program is allowed to use this buffering. I selected mediaportal, but this did not do the trick. Which program is MediaPortal using internally to play the DVD?
Anybody using DVDIdle and have this working?
Anybody using other tools to do the same?
Thanks in advance,
Ben
