If you want people to help, provide software and hardware information - 'Vista & crashes' isn't exactly a lot to go on.....

Ok i will install direct x updates. Ive already updated my SQL software to 3.0 with windows update.

I have an Intel CE6230 DVBT BDA with the latest vista Drivers.

Windows Media Center wont detect the tuner but Media Portal Does.

And as i said before, it crashes when i try to scan for channels.

Click on the 'User CP' link at the top of this page, then 'Edit System Specification' and fill out your system specs - then other users can click on the 'My System' link and see what hardware/software you have - i.e. help people to help you....

My guess is that if Vista Media Center can't see the tuner then MediaPortal may have problems too - does the tuner work with the software that came with it ?

You could also try something like ProgDVB ?
