Synopsis:: -

I had this problem before in the CVS versions, but didn't bother since it's WIP.. But the bug is still there, so maybe a good time to post.

Clean install of RC2 + CVS + start.bat, works great. Tried Razor and MCE skin, problem in both cases.

I have configured d:\My Documents\My Pictures as "My Pictures" in Media Portal. As soon as I select this directory it crashes.

My Pictures contains 179 sub directories, with a total of 5000 files in them. Total filesize is 3.5G.

MP crashes with an out of memory. System has 1000MB, with 700MB free at the moment of the crash.. It confirmed this by running Perfmon during the actions. It could be that MP allocates 700MB and crashes between two samples of Perfmon, but that in itself would be a bug ;-)

Problem found: Corrupt JPEG in one of the folders

Hi,

The problem turned out to be a corrupt JPEG in one of the subdirectories. Apparently MP tries to read something from all lower level directories as well at the moment you open a folder (EXIF info??)

The parser for that info doesn't handle corrupt files
