Hi all, just came across tv server the other day and decided to buy myself a tv card and try and get my whole setup working.

In my file server the pinnacle card is installed where it runs tv server and media portal (just for testing purposes) which works 100% fine besides no EPG guide at the moment.

Now when I run media portal my laptop and ask assign the hostname of the tv server to either nas or the ip address I have the same problem. Soon as media portal is loaded and tv is selected as on it crashes and then nothing...

no idea what im doing wrong, but what im after in the long run is using this plugin
My TvServer Client
So that my xbox 360 can be used as an extender using the mediaportal tv server

Here is the logs from my laptop which mediaportal is crashing on

    Hi there :)

I had a quick glance at your logs. Unfortunately no expert in that area, but I do have a few questions and suggestions.

You say that the logs are from the laptop. Is TVServer installed on the laptop as well? It should not be, just asking since I saw some things in your logs indicating that. Not sure if it should be like that or not. See if you have a TV Server directory in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\ or not?

I presume you carefully followed the installation and configuration steps in the manual?

    Then do the following:
Use the instructions here simultaneously on server and laptop to collect logs.
Use the advanced mode reply and attach the 2 zip files here and indicate which one is server and which one is client.

Right not too sure how to attach the server logs so just added them into a archive.

    The setup is 2 computers
    laptop and nas
Nas hosts the tv tuner and tv server
    Laptop has mediaportal installed.

The mediaportal log is off the laptop, where as the logs.rar is off the tv server nas.

I installed media portal onto nas for testing and it can connect to the tv server no problem (as localhost)

    Windows firewall has been disabled

failed:unable to add filter:ffdshow Video Decoder to graph
Can you try another tv codec on laptop. ffdshow is not recommended for mpeg2 (TV).

Changed it, tried a few different codec's now all seem to give the same result in the error files, but it dosen't seem to be a codec problem

I'm having the same problem. The RTSP server is not responding it looks like. The URL does not play in VLC in either the client computer, or even on the host computer. The host computer log even says the URL is rtsp://192.168.1.2/stream1.0 and yet it won't play in VLC on the same machine. No errors listed in the host machine..

    Can't play in VLC either.
Can't understand why it works on mediaportal on the server machine but none of the others.

Here are the logs from my HTPC

From what I can gather from reading both server and client logs it seems that it opens the connection fine, then nothing, the client crashes

As shown in this attachment, my laptop is connecting to the tvserver no problem.

Its just media portal has crashed, it will say the status of the connection is 'timeshifting' until i close mediaportal, then the status returns back to idle
