Nicely done, Patrick. How do the listings compare to SchedulesDirect? (i.e. any idea if the "Friends - 2x03 - Joey Comes Home" type of automatic naming is possible?)

Hi Noelix,

AFAIK it has the same information as zap2it did.
Too bad the re-namer does not have a means to say query thetvdb.com for the info.

Great Job! I've gotten it to download the program guide. However, I can't figure out how to map my digital QAM channels.

I finally got my HVR-1800 all setup. I've scanned my analog and digital channels. I've mapped the channels. I've configured CTTV for my orlando brighthouse DIGITAL guide. This guide has my digital channels number in the 1000s (which I can access through my cable provided DVR). All the analogs channels are showing up fine in the media portal program guide. The digital have no data. The HVR-1800 has simply given me my QAM channel with the correct name but no channel number in th guide (although it's near the sort location in the guide?). When demoing with sage, I was able to map the program guide data for WESH-HD (channel 1020) to my QAM channel (116-2-1)

How do I remap EPG channels from what CTTV provides to my actual channel?

Try renaming the channel to the name/callsign from the lineup.
For example, in my lineup the Discovery Channel is named "DSC" (w/o quotes).
It should be able to pick it up then.
(Once the mapping is in place you can rename it to whatever you like)

>> Try renaming the channel to the name/callsign from the lineup.<<

Where is that?

never mind, found it. Never thought to click the main 'TV Channels' node.

So I went into TVServer setup, clicked on the main TV Channels node and now I see all the channels with checkboxes for those channels to show in the guide and the edit, preview, etc buttons. I can see all the channels from my analog tuner that now have names that were imported by the guide all the way into the 1000s for my HD channels ( I chose my cable co's digital lineup). I also see rows for my QAM Channels from the digital tuner. I've only got channels 2-74 from my analog card and the QAM channels checked off to show in guide.

The guide pulled in my WESH as channel "1020 WESHDT". This is not mapped to any card and NOT checked off. For the QAM tuner, it's listed as "WESH-HD". So I edit and named my QAM "WESH-HD" to "1020 WESHDT". I open media portal, go to guide, and I see 1020 WESHDT but no data. I go back into TVServer and go ahead and checkoff the original 1020 WESHDT. Back in media portal guide. I now see 2 1020 WESHDT and one has data (but I can't watch since it's not mapped) and the other has no data.

How does the EPG associate guide data with an actual channel?

What did you mean by >>(Once the mapping is in place you can rename it to whatever you like)<<

Am I not mapping by renaming it?

What is SID for?

What is SID for?

Ok, I can see a little more now.
Terms get confusing and can mean different things, ex. mapped to a card or mapped to EPG.
Just renaming it does not re-map it. SID has nothing to do with the EPG mapping.

First, in the TV Server Management Console->TV Channels section, you will have to delete
the channel(s) that was added incorrectly.
This would be the 1020 WESHDT that HAS DATA but you CANNOT WATCH since it's NOT MAPPED TO A CARD.

Next, edit the 1020 WESHDT that IS MAPPED TO A CARD and CAN BE WATCHED, and change the
name to the channel callsign. In this case change the name to "WESHDT" without the quotes
and NO channel number and click OK. (Channel callsigns are in your CTTVListings lineup on the web)

Now, the next time the EPG data is updated it should map to the channel correctly.

What did you mean by >>(Once the mapping is in place you can rename it to whatever you like)<<
Once this EPG mapping is set up correctly AND working you can then go back in the TV Channels and edit
the channel and rename back to "WESH-HD" if you want b/c the EPG Mapping will already be saved.

How does the EPG associate guide data with an actual channel?
Basically (and depending on the options you select) it tries to find a match
between what is provided by the EPG data and what data is available from MP.

The first check is for a callsign match, this enables situations where actual channel
data will not match for some reason like channel 1020 in the EPG data to QAM channel (116-2-1) in MP data.
Next uses channel(s) number basically in the different forms.
There is other code for specific things but thats it basically...

It can be a little confusing at first but hang in there :)

I tried that above but was still having issues so I just started all over again and this time it pulled in the HD guide data for the QAM channels and it linked everything up. I can see program info now for the QAM channels in MP.

Thanks for the help!

Now if I could just actually watch the HD channel, that would be nice....
