Because on my system when I tried to do this (last week when the series first appeared in the epg), it certainly had the series link option in the menu. I'm very sure of this as I tried to set the link several times deleting the entry between each try. In fact I'm pretty sure I still have the link set in my scheduled recordings, so if it helps I can probably dig out any associated data, so long as you tell me what you need...
