EDIT : as I have a new (related problem), I change the title of my topic

Hi,

I justed plugged in a new optical drive and started importing movies from it (those which weren't imported with my other optical drive).

It now looks as if all the previously imported movies are deleted from Moving Pictures. Truth or just my imagination?

I now have 2 drives. One that was used to import 200+ movies and this one thas was used to import 2 or 3 movies which didn't work on the other one.
In the future, the situation will be much clearer as I will have one HD DVD drive and one blu-ray drive (at this time i have one hybrid drive which has been my main drive for months and this newly-plugged hd dvd drive)

do you happen to have the log of when you started movingpictures and the movies were gone? There should be signs in there as to why it deleted them (if this is the case)

I tried to read the database and found out that if, as I suppose, movies are inserted in the local_media table with an auto incrementing id, there were gaps where my optical medias were.

I thnik we can consider them lost, and I think I'll have to re-enter them all

Still one question, will moving pictures deal with my 2 drives correctly? (because, from now on, I'll be using one drive for my HD DVD and one for my Blu-ray)

I found that in the wiki : "all media from any optical drives on your system will be loaded when inserted".

I guess I'll take this as an answer (and I'll guess I'll backup my database every night too :))

I shouldn't have taken it as an answer as moving pictures (at least, on my PC), seems to be unable to deal with multiple optical drive.
Can anoyne let me know if this is the case?

moving pictures should be able to deal with two optical drives - what is the problem in particular that let's you suspect this isn't the case?

    I have 2 drives :
-first one is an external Xbox HD DVD drive
-second one is an internal HD DVD/Blu-ray hybrid drive

When I insert a HD DVD in my Xbox drive, it plays perfectly and is detected by moving pictures importer.
When I insert a HD DVD (the same one as earlier), Blu-ray or DVD in my internal hybrid drive, it plays perfectly but is not detected by moving pictures importer ("auto import when an optical media is detected"(or whatever) option is checked)
