Hi,

I just found mediaportal and now I am curious if I can realize my set-top-box plans with this software.
Currently I am looking for a new intelligent satellite receiver with some features:

1. I need to have a good standard definition picture quality, because currently I still use a Philips CRT 16:9 TV with NO HDMI, Component, DVI or VGA Input possibilities. Thus I need to connect to composite, S-Video or SCART.
2. DVB-S2 Tuner for standard an high definition TV in future.
3. Internetservice like weather forecasts, youtube, browsing, etc.
4. WLAN (preferred) or LAN support to connect to my NAS an other PCs (I have still got a DLink DWL G122 USB WLAN Adapter)
5. DLNA or UPnP-AV support for media servers like twonkey
6. All kind of video codecs with one or more audio streams and subtitles.
7. Nice thumbnail presentation of my audio, video and photo files (with covers, meta information like plots, actors and so on.) fetched automatically
8. Possibility to remotely control the STB and to stream a certain TV broadcast to any PC in my network or via dyndns to any internet client (e.g. via VLC). So I can watch my favourite TV program anywhere with my netbook.
9. Easy to program PVR, also remotely via my netbook. And easy enough for my girlfriend ;)
10. Should support my SKY Nagra S0 decoder card to watch my SKY subscription

What hardware do I need?

I still got a bunch of different hardware:

Pentium 4 2,4 and 3 Ghz with board and 1 or 2 GB RAM
Geforce 4, ATI Radeon 9700 or ATI X800XL graphic card
Audigy 2 ZS or Realtec onboard sound

I will need:

a receiver card
a remote control
a nice case
silent fans

Can you give me some advice if my wishes are realizable and how?

Thank you very much!
