Im having a problem with mediaportal and im not sure where its coming from.
I use Purevideo for my movie and dvd codec, audio and video. I dont use any postprocessing like ffdshow or anything. I use CoreAVC for h264.
When i play a .vob in mediaplayer i get the purevideo icon on the taskbar showing me that it is in use, the movie plays fine in windowed and full screen. Similarly when i play a .vob file in MediaPortal (windowed mode) i get the nvidia icon, the movie plays fine. When i start MediaPortal in full screen and proceed to play a .vob file, i get lines of the dvd all the way down the screen, maybe 5 pixels of the dvd.. then 30 pixels of nothing just black.. another 5 of the dvd, then 30 black, making a stripy t shirt effect, when i alt+enter, MediaPortal crashes out so i dont know if its using Purevideo at that time.
So i uninstalled purevideo, uninstalled wmp10, uninstalled MediaPortal, reinstalled everything, still the same, i unregistered codecs with radlight, re registered, still same, i cannot for the life of me figure out why fullscreen in mediaportal should be any different than full screen in wmp10 when they should both be using the same codecs.
I just attempted to try another codec with MediaPortal, i tried changing it to descaler, i tried cyberlink powerdvd, i tried nerodvd, all still exactly the same problem. So uninstalled Purevideo, thinking mediaportal was defaulting to this, still the same.
Which brings me to the conclusion that no matter what codec i select in mediaportals setup program, it always defaults to one that is giving me this stripy effect, because i uninstalled purevideo and got the same result tells me that throughout the first part of my problem solving, mediportal wasnt using purevideo in fullscreen at all, even though i had it selected in the setup.
Im at my wits end and am about 1 work day away from wiping C: and reinstalling XP, it could be that ive just messed up something deeper within XP and thats why im having this issue.
So i thought id throw it out there and see if anyone has had the same thing, thanks for reading my super long post.
