I'm hoping to start a thread here, where everyone can post their setups, and scan problems.
I hope to hijack a few threads doing this, and I will post in each thread to come here.

here's my setup:
TV-Server Version: tvengine3-08-18-2007--01-23h--Rev15586
MediaPortal Version: MediaPortal-svn--08-18-2007--01-01-Rev15586.exe
MediaPortal Skin:
Windows Version: xp pro
CPU Type: p4 2.39ghz
HDD: 160 sata II
Memory: 1.49 GB
Video Card: intel 82865G
Sound Card: soundmax integrated
1. TV Card: SkyStar 2 rev 2.6c
1. TV Card Type: dvb-s
1. TV Card Driver: technisat dvb-pc tv star pci(BDA) 4.4.1.5
Satelite/CableTV Provider: dish

I have a dish 5oo, with 2 legacy dual lnb's. 1 cable on each lnb goes to a diseq switch, which goes to my skystar2.
scanned both 119(echostar7), and 110(echostar 6,8) with a fta reciever, and with the skystar2(using dvb dream) and there is great signal, and quality on both sats(all transponders), and all channels come in fine.

when I scan with mediaportal, I get some false signal readings, and hex channel names(see the attached log)
NA Legacy lnb type, lof1 11250 lof2 0, sw 0

Our setups are almost identical with the exception that my Dish 500 has the DishPro plus LNB and I get the same symptoms you get. The hex named channels being the worst part of it. I've tried both the bda and the wdm driver for the skystar2 with the same results. Also, DVBDream, Mytheatre scan perfectly. I will do a rescan here in a bit and post some logs.

No TV Servers

In setup everthing seems to go OK creating the database but no TV servers appear on the config dialog.
What is the setup looking for in detecting the TV cards?

MediaPortal Version: MediaPortal-svn--08-17-2007--01-00-Rev15568.exe
MediaPortal Skin:
Windows Version: vista business
CPU Type: centrino 2 Duo T7400
HDD: 160 sata II x2
Memory: 4 GB
Video Card: nVidia 8500GT 256M
Sound: SigmaTel Integrated
1. TV Card: DVico Fusion HDTV DVB-T Nano + (USB)

wrong thread..

hopefully this thread will lead to fixing the hex in channel name after a north america dish/bev scan.

did you read the wiki about setting up the hybrid cards?

TV Servers

Sorry for the wrong thread - I will start a new one!

And yes I did read the wiki - I'm getting no data on the TV Servers section in the management console.

Cheers

    Here's my configuration:

    TV-Server Version: tvengine3-08-18-2007--01-23h--Rev15586
    MediaPortal Version: MediaPortal-svn--08-18-2007--01-01-Rev15586.exe
    MediaPortal Skin:
    Windows Version: xp pro
    CPU Type: Athlon XP 2400
    HDD: 500GB sata II
    Memory: 1 GB
    Video Card: ATI 9600
    Sound Card: NForce Integrated
    1. TV Card: FireDTV-S
    1. TV Card Type: dvb-s
    1. TV Card Driver: BDA 4.8
    Satelite/CableTV Provider: Hotbird 13E + Astra 19.2E

    Problem is the following:

    - Many hex channel names found during scan. If I then compare transponder and SID on lyngsat I can see they're normal channels (like Premiere Sport 1, 2 ecc.)
    - If I turn on my second decoder on a diseq switch (dual feed universal lnb TWIN) and this decoder is on a V polarization channel I'm not able to scan H channels (this could be and issue with firedtv and my LNB through, I can live with it I normally turn off my second decoder when I scan).

Could someone comment on where one changes the scan timeout settings in the latest TV Server? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

It's under "General Settings" on the "Scan" tab. Increasing the values made no difference for me - your mileage may vary.

I have the same issue with hex channel names but only for Dish - BEV works fine. Both BEV and dish sats are on the same diseqc switch and I am able to get all of the BEV channels fine... odd about dish...
