delay between reciever and computer (1 Viewer)

I've noticed that on two of my computers that mp is installed on there's a delay between when I push buttons on the remote for the dish reciever and when it appears on the screen. For example, if I change the channel to 11 it will take approximately 5 secs for the first "1" to appear. and any changes that I make take about 3-5 seconds to go from the reciever to the image I see on the screen.
