the log files says that it crashes because one of the files in the cache is missing.

Did you delete the whole cache folder - including the folder itself - or only the subfolders?
If so, try to create a new folder named C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache\

Migh or might not work, but perhaps worth a shot.

What happens when you try a different skin?
Just noticed that this was in the StreamedMP section.

You could also try to reinstall the StreamedMP skin.

that would work too. i renamed the blue3wide cache folder streamedmp and it booted up (but it obviously didn't have the right graphics)

This is really strange. I delete skin cache all the time, and it never causes issues, so I guess there is something else.

    Like this:
    2009-03-18 15:00:27.546972 [ERROR][MPMain]: D3D: InitializeDeviceObjects - Exception: System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory.

    Please post your system specs.

not the system's fault. after all, it loads up other skins fine

    but it's 2.6 ghz dual core, 4gb ram, ma78gm-s2h mobo, 2.5tb

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck? Preferable with as much disabled as possible also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything) maybe other programs competing for resouces?

I have recently installed MediaPortal 1.37 (x64) and MP-TVSeries v4.5.1.697 and unfortunately the TV episode runtime duration is missing in my Titan skin. This only applies to my .TS files, my .MKV files are OK. I believe the difference is likely to be because .MKV files embed the runtime in the file unlike .TS files. I have done...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
