Its only possible manually but it would require never using the auto online fanart again...so you would need to delete your fanart database, turn fanart downloaded off altogether and then rename your local fanart files so that it has season identifiers in the filename e.g. 12321_s1.jpg, 32444_s5.jpg
Manual fanart is not really supported anymore...it is just left over from before we had online fanart available.

I recently did a fresh install of 2.5 on a new Windows 11 PC. My previous (Windows 10) version of 2.5 gave my broadcast TV channel...
I don't think so, because MP has no way of knowing at which timestamp the external player stopped playback.
Best way to achieve this would be to use an auto-resume feature in your external player itself. (MPC-HC can do that, I don't know about VLC)

I clicked on the box highlighted in the attached screenshot and also added English GB to that and removed the existing English EN. Misspellled words (like that one) are now underlined with red wavy line.:)
