different renderers for SD and HD (1 Viewer)

I think it would be a good feature to be able to choose different renderers for SD and HD decoding.
For example in VISTA I get good results for SD material in VMR9 and for HD material i use EVR, So I have to switch every time between Evr and VMR9, according what I use.
Can be a nice options be able to choose which render for different formats.

Because (I don't know why) but Cyberlink + VISTA + MP + EVR +SD = less fluidity.
The SD material in EVR it's not smooth like in VMR9.

I think you must a setting wrong somewhere, evr for me is crystal clear and fluid, thats using PDVD 7.3 Ultra on it's default settings outputting at 720 via hdmi, maybe thats the difference.

Does it make a difference if you turn HW acceleration off, both in powerdvd settings and mp (has been known to override settings).

I will check for settings, but since turning off EVR it's enought to get the SD material perfect I guess to don't have any setting problem.
It's really strange for me too, I should try use Microsoft Mpeg decoder instead of Cyberlink...
The difference i see it's a sort of judder that usually happens if the frequency (HZ) of the source is displayed on a Tv/Monitor with different refresh rate. But I use PAL material on a 50.00Hz nVidia VGA output on a TV that tell me 50.00hz received.
The deinterlacing and fluidity I get with cyberlink+VMR9 is amazing

Wich ver are you using Paranoid Delusion?
With MS Mpeg-2 decoder no problems with EVR.

Never checked, it just tell me i am up to date, hopefully same as you.

Sometimes i do wonder if M$ codec better, do see a rise in cpu, but it is a toss of a coin decision.

The only thing i can say is there is a vast improvement using evr my end, had 2 nvidia cards in this system, 7100 (got it cheap whilst waiting for the new one) and the current 7900, and for what this pc is used for cannot find any major difference now that my daughter has stopped playing games on it htpc wise.

Just as a extra, if you have FFDShow installed it does have a tendency to process video anyway, never found it to be a problem, but some might.

ps. Samsung have never been PC friendly, this is a point that has been raised a few times on many forums, the Philips is not great regarding PC's but seems to work in a basic way.

That is not a criticism, or a answer, just what i have found.

Would it be nice to plug n play, and enjoy.

I don't use FFDshow and I have an 8600nvidia graphic adapter.
If I use Cyberlink with VMR9 the result is slightly better then MS Mpeg2 + EVR.
But Cyberlink + EVR not yet... judder problems.
Now I want to update if possible my cyberlink decoders with Mpeg-2 CLVSD.AX 8.0.0.1828... and try again.

Samsung M86/7 with HTPC works like a charm...

with Mpeg-2 CLVSD.AX 8.0.0.1828 contained in last Cyberlink update, EVR + SD(MPEG-2) now OK
I don't know if better in EVR or VMR9 but now the fluidity is perfect.
At the end however, an option can be useful in my opinion.
