    Dear all,

A few days ago reported that I could not watch Histoy channel, and that was because there were two channels with the same name, see here:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/1-0-rc1-svn-builds-271/history-channel-not-able-watch-38588/

I also asked this question in the official Cable television povider forum. got an answer from the admin there as follows:

"There are two channels 'History channel' One SD version and one HD version, the official decoders can see the difference between HD and SD channels."

I have only a subscription for the HD version, MP TV server kicked out the HD version and kept the SD, with as result I could not watch History channel at all, because this SD channel was scrambled for me.

So therefor here the request for the developpers to find a way to keep multiple channels that apearently look the same (same tag, "History Channel") but are different because of SD/HD versions. Right now the TV server kicks out one channel if there are two with the same name, or at least it seems so.

    Thanks!

    Any comments about this?

I have been keeping thinking about this.. Shouldn't it be such way when the TV server finds two of the same channels during a channelscan, a window should pop up to ask which one you want to keep, or rename one of them or something? In stead of TV server arbitrary kicks out one of the channels that it finds to be the same, without any warning.

As I said in the Bugreport, I have found a work around, by removing one of the conflicting transponder channels from the tuning parameter DVBC file, and do a rescan. But by doing so, I also kicked out 7 more channels I cant watch now.. In my case not really a problem, because I didn't watch these channels anyways, but if it was one I watch the news on every day.. well.. You see the problem?

I think this will happen more and more in the future, as channels decide to provide a SD version and HD version to the cable companies.
