I have read a lot of info on this site and I am excited to use MP for my home theater setup.

I have a question about the My TV though. I subscribe to a digital television service, AT&T U-Verse to be exact, and wanted to know if you could use MP to watch and record shows from my digital service. I didn't think it was, but I am impress so far by what all MP can do, so I figured I would ask to make sure.

This is an old question, but No, MP will only be able to play what your TV Tuners will pickup. Therefore, you have two options: 1) If UVerse gives the non premium channels in Clear QAM, then you can use those channels (typically local channels and the first 99 channels if they are analog). I had TWC, and this worked well. But you will not get any premium channels because the encrypt them. And if UVerse encrypts the local and other channels then you can do anything with them anyway.

    2) Tune the UVerse receiver to channel. Setup MP to record on Input to PC (need Video In hardware on your pc) at specific time. However, this is very cumbersome because you have to tune the UVerse settop box, set MP and then only record in StdDef. Even then, UVerse settop boxes may disable the output if a pc is identified of more than one output is selected (there was talk about doing that some time ago...dont know how it progressed).

All in all, the overall answer at most would be partially capable. Not because of MP, but because of limitations and restrictions placed on the hardware.
