There is still the "D3DERR_DEVICELOST" error after resuming from standby. It is there at least since RC3.

Here is the relevant part. This is the very first entry after resuming:

It causes black screen & no sound after resuming especially in conjunction with the autostart plugin.

Scenario:
1. Start MP, look TV or do something else
2. Send the PC to sleep (S3 in my case)
3. restart the PC
4. Look into the log file - it is always the very first entry after resuming.

thanks+regards

You mean the MediaPortal GUI is black?
Or MyTV is black|mute when entering after resume?

would you be able to test S4 -> hibernate?

    :D for testing

    fullscreen TV is black/mute.

As said that happens when I "autostart" fullscreen TV after resume. (But the D3D error is always there independant from the autostart plugin).

    I will test S4 later.

    thanks+regards

    Hi,
The error D3DERR_DEVICELOST MediaPortal can handle & resume from & should not causing black screen.
Do you have the option "repost VGA after S3" or something like that enabled in BIOS?

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi,
wewe, the SVN 07-12-2006--20-04-Rev9484 will have an option in MP Setup -> General to turn monitor/tv on when resuming.
Test if your system it's better with this build.

    Hi,
    As said before
    ...............
The error D3DERR_DEVICELOST MediaPortal can handle & resume from & should not causing black screen.
    ................

This is because you are suspending or hibernating & the graphic card it's turned off.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Should MP redraw the screen contents after the D3DERR_DEVICELOST?

    - I get the D3DERR_DEVICELOST error.
    - Media Portal doesn't recover. The MP window's contents never appear.

I end up with a transparent Media Portal window that I can see the desktop through. No TV is visible, no menus are visible, just the title bar, the top menu and desktop that's behind the window.

It doesn't recover. The screen contents are not redrawn.

    Make sense?

I can post a screen shot if it would help.

    Thanks and Cheers.
