i know this one is a long shot.. but does anyone think it possable to code a plugin that will receive a DirecTV signal straight form the dish this would simplify alot of compatibility issues we have now with DirecTV and any Media Center, MS an DirecTV are "Working" on support for this in Vista Media Center but i've talked with them both.. even making it as far as the president of DirecTV's office only to get told we are working on it.. according to all the news posts on the web they've been "Working" on this since Jan 2005 thats a whole year now.. i certainly dont see why it would take so long to support this from two very large cooperations point of view..
Or for that matter even a plugin that would IR Blast via USB to USB my Philips receiver has USB ports on the back and i dont see anything else that would support IR Blasting
