Synopsis: I want to build a Htpc and want to rid if my noise Nvidia Geforce 6800gt. At time i could buy a Matrox Parhelia P650 128MB PCI-E. i donßt play games and the Matrox Cards are the best for 2D. But it doesn´t support DirectX 9.0. And DirectX 9.0 is part of the system requierments of MediaPortal.

My queston: Does MediaPortal also run without DirectX 9.0? Would i miss much with a Matrox Parhelia P650 ?

Take a look at the passively cooled 6600 from Giga-byte. It works great for me. In addition, it has several mpeg2 enhancements not available in the other 6xxx series.

Nvidia 6200 is crap for a HTPC.

I have Gigabyte 6600Gt in my own HTPC, but installed 6200 in
my fathers HTPC. I can say there is no difference in picture quality.

    PS: Totally agree with Taipan.
Personal opinion is ok without bad language.
