Hi to all,
I've problems watching DVD ot TV with my HTPC:
- when I turn ON DirectX Exclusive mode I've flashing and corrupted images during DVD & TV playback
- when I turn OFF DirectX Excusive mode I've tearing problems

My system is (unfortunately my HTPC is offline so I can't use support template):

Motherboard: iBase MB896F using 915GM IGP (GMA900) with latest drivers from Intel

RAM: Corsair 1GB 533

CPU: Intel Pentium M 730

HDD: Hitachi 80GB

CDROM: Pioneer DVD-RW

I've installed many MPEG2 decoders (nVidia PureVideo, WinDVD 7, PowerDVD 7), but I'm not able to remove tearing... also tryed to use Reclock but no lucky!
In my laptop I've no issue at all and I've noticed that checking tearing with "!" key I see jitter greater than 0, what does this measurement means, and the other variables?

try differerent or preff the latest GMA 900 drivers. If that does not help try borowing a different videocard to see if the problem is videocard related

    Hi,
I've tried different intel drivers but no luck.. the same issue is present running MCE in fullscreen mode when the GUI is flickering! I've no room for adding a videocard and everything is smoot on DVD players in Windows. Thanks

I guess MPC = MediaPortal; if so, no it's wrong also at fullscreen... I'm using PureVideo, PowerDVD 7 but no luck!

    download Media Player Classic.
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/guliverkli/mpc2kxp6490.zip?download

    Play the DVD af fullscreen

Does it have tearing and which Direct Show filters does Media Player Classic use

    Hi,
I've made the test, MPC uses VRM7 mode, instead MP uses VRM9.
Anyway, DVD doesn't play smooth, it seems my system doesn't have enough power to play DVD, which is unbelievable because it's a Pentium M 730!!! In fact, CPU doesn't exceed 25% occuapation during DVD playback.
It seems to me that there are compatibility problems between GMA900, VRM9 and MPEG2 acceleration in general.
For sure I know that if I enable DXVA in MP, when VRM9 is started (during TV or DVD view) screen is messed up with large flashing textures of the screen at the bottom of the display. I don't know what to do...

You can select which output to use in Media Player Classic. Try using VMR9 in Media Player Classic.

Is there an application for playing DVD that does not give any tearing ? if so use graphedit to see which mpeg decoder it uses.

You can also consider using a standard non-hardware accelerating mpeg decoder cause your CPU is fast enough to decode mpeg2

    Thanks man for the suggestions,
which non-hw mpeg decoder you suggest me? Also, could it be a LOW-POWER issue what I'm experiencing? I doublt Intel sells a chipset which is not powerfull enought to play DVD...
